KCCA Inter-zonal U-15 final today

KARACHI: Zone-V Whites entered the final of KCCA Inter-Zonal Under-15 Cricket Championship with a 37 runs victory over Zone-III Whites at TMC Ground on Friday.

Thanks to fine show by trio of Zeeshan Rahim, Muhammad Athar and Ammad Rafiq. Zone-V Whites batting first were bowled out for 190 in 48 overs. Zeeshan struck five boundaries in his 62 and Muhammad Athar cracked five 4s in his 54.

The pair added 108 runs for the third wicket to help their team reach a respectable total. However, after the departure of Zeeshan and Athar, Zone-III Whites last seven crumbled for 31 runs. Muhammad Zohaib was the other batsmen to reach double figures, hitting five boundaries in his breezy 24.

Zone-III Whites medium pacer Saad Azeem snapped up seven wickets for 41 runs in 23.5 overs but his heroics failed to save his team from defeat. When Zone-III Whites batted opener Abrar-ul-Haq and Walid Khan gave their team a fine start of 54. Walid went after making 17.

Abrar hit a defiant 80 with five hits to the boundary but grand effort went invain as Zone-III Whites were spun out for 153.

The final will be played today at TMC Ground between KCCA-Zone I Whites and Zone V (Whites). Sindh Sports Minister Naeem Ishtiaq will be the chief guest.

Meanwhile, Tournament Secretary, M Tauseef Siddiqui has advised the man of the matches to report today to receive their prizes at 3pm.

Scores: Zone-V Whites 190 all out in 47.5 overs (Zeeshan Rahim 62, M Athar 54, Muhammad Zohaib 24; Saad Azeem 7-41) v Zone-III Whites 153 all out in 44.1 overs (Abrar-ul-Haq 80, Burhan Riaz 19, Walid Khan 17; Ammad Rafiq 5-40, Shehryar Ahmed 2-17).
